Membership Committee

Bike Austin’s Membership Committee is comprised of volunteer Bike Austin members who take an active interest in supporting our mission of bicycle education and advocacy through membership.  The Membership Committee focuses on the following goals of the “We Grow the Movement” section of Bike Austin’s strategic plan:

  1. Be more inclusive of a wider, more diverse membership
  2. Increase the number of Bicycle-Friendly Businesses in Central Texas
  3. Increase the public’s awareness that Bike Austin is the expert resource in bike safety, education, and advocacy
  4. Double our membership numbers to 2,000 by 2018

The Membership Committee supports these efforts through various leadership roles that engage with the diverse types of riders in Austin.  In an effort to be more inclusive of riders whose voices are underrepresented, Bike Austin is also launching a Equity Membership Initiative. The Equity Membership Initiative will be led by Bike Austin “Equity Ambassadors” within the Membership Committee. The Membership Committee will be supervised by Bike Austin Staff Lead and Community Development Planner Shavone Otero.

Please RSVP for the next meeting on Monday, September 18th, 2017 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the Bike Austin office (1000 Brazos St. Suite 1000 78701).  See FB event.
