Teaching other other how to ride in traffic is smooth when you’re prepared with the knowledge and skills to avoid potential conflicts. In the TS101 class, you will learn where to ride safely on the street, how to be visible and predictable to motorists and where to position yourself at intersections. Even if you are an experienced cyclist, you will be surprised at how much you did not know about safe cycling.
Practice what you learned in the classroom session by getting on the bike and having an on-bike session to start your pass in becoming a certified expert with your riding skills. The course will start with parking lot drills that cover bike handling skills and avoidance maneuvers. Then you will put everything you’ve learned together for practice on the road. The on-road experiences include quiet residential streets, minor arterials, multi-lane low- and moderate-speed arterials. Finally, you will learn every aspect of the bike.
