Complete Streets for Pleasant Valley

Pleasant Valley Road south of Todd Lane winds past three schools, multiple recreation centers and parks and local businesses, but it lacks the bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure needed to protect Austinites from dangerous traffic.  The Bike Austin Neighborhood Bike Advocacy Committee is calling for a ”Complete Street” with protected bike lanes, traffic calming measures and pedestrian safety improvements on Pleasant Valley to give school children a safe place to walk and bike to school, boost local business and improve quality of life along the entire corridor.

Community members near Pleasant Valley bridge/Longhorn Dam have started organizing vulnerable road users for a better solution for folks navigating Pleasant Valley northbound or southbound.

To get involved, RSVP for our next Neighborhood Bike Advocacy Committee Meeting, which meets the second Wednesday of every month at 6:30PM at Bike Austin – 1000 Brazos Street.
