Tell us a little about why you’re a bicycle-supporting business and a little about your business, in general.
Founded by six-time Tour de France rider Kevin Livingston, Pedal Hard Austin has been the home for professional, personalized, and goal-oriented cycling training for nearly ten years. No matter what you are training for, our experienced, friendly coaching staff works hard to help you achieve your goals. It’s often thought that cycling training is just hoping on a bike and riding as hard as you can. Not so, self-professed fitness gurus! After a baseline power-test, we create a customized training plan to help you build fitness in high and low power zones. Lose the traffic and the scorching heat, bring your bike into the Pedal Hard’s air-conditioned studio and get ready for the best cycling training you’ve ever experienced!

Why did you decide to become a Bike Austin small business member?
We love cyclists! We love hearing your stories from the latest races or relaxed weekend rides. Any group that helps promotes cycling in Austin gets two thumbs up from us!

What benefits or positive outcomes do you hope to enjoy as a Bike Austin small business member?
We hope to meet some of the great athletes in the Bike Austin community! The Pedal Hard training strategy is great for all levels of cyclist and we hope we can extend our services to anyone who wants to be stronger on their bike!

Why do you think Bike Austin is important to the Austin cycling community?
Anyone who has ridden on the roads in Austin understands why cycling advocacy is important. We’re lucky to have a group like Bike Austin fighting to make our roads safer for cyclists every day. While new cycling infrastructure is vitally important, educating riders on how to ride with traffic is just as important. Bike Austin does a great job of tackling the issue of rider safety from both sides. We hope Pedal Hard can help out in the educational effort. Earlier this year, we launched a series of riding clinics at Circuit of the Americas with a focus on improving group riding skills. If you are more comfortable riding wheel to wheel, you can greatly improve the safety of group rides. We hope to see some Bike Austin members out at our clinics coming up this fall!

Why/how are donations important to Bike Austin’s Advocacy Fund and education programs?
It is difficult to have your voice heard in the city government because there are so many competing interests. For us cyclists, donating to Bike Austin is a great way to make sure our interests are represented.
